The
makers of a brand new car orientated TV series for Channel 5 spent a day
filming the goings on at the JMR workshop in January, 1999. The second
programme in the six part series, entitled 'Stars & Cars', was broadcast on
May 6th, 1999 and included archive footage of John's previous incarnation as
drummer with punk rock band Buzzcocks, VW drag racing from Santa Pod, a tour of
the JMR workshop - including dyno testing of a race engine, a brief look at the
new JMR project car, an interview with John and finally, Rob Tomlinson
demonstrating how to smoke the rear tyres and explaining some of the encounters
he's had with non VW drivers in his JMR 2276cc equipped 1954 Oval!
Below, you can download the soundtrack of the
feature. Not quite as good without the visuals - you miss out on the drag race
and dyno footage etc. - but a complete video file would take up way too much
disc space and take forever to download. At least you'll get the general
idea!
