| Engle 100 Gives good increase in low end torque. Great for a bus fitted with twin choke progressive carb or two single chokes eg. Kadrons, Weber 34 ICTs or 34 Dellorto FRDs. Use with stock 1.1:1 ratio rockers and single HD valve springs. 276 duration, 0.374 inches lift at cam. | | | |
| Engle 110
The most popular aftermarket cam for the aircooled VW engine - and deservedly so. Works great in mild stock stroke engines with improved carburetion. With stock valve 1600cc heads and a pair of 40mm twin choke carbs on a 1776cc engine, I get 100 plus bhp every time. Excellent torque and smooth driveability. Use with stock 1.1:1 ratio rockers, single HD springs and chromoly retainers - stock retainers can pull through. 284 duration. 0.385" lift at cam.
| Engle 120 I use this to get 125 bhp from 1776cc with 40 x 35.5mm valves, 40mm twin chokes and 1.5 inch or 1.625 inches header. Peak power occurs later than with the Engle 110 but with a little headwork, still nice to drive at lower rpm. You'll need dual valve springs and chromoly retainers. 294 duration, 0.390 inches lift at cam. | | | |
| Engle 125 Use this with 1.25:1 rockers and you have a great spread of torque throughout the rpm range and good horsepower too. You'll only get the benefit if you have larger than stock valves eg. 40 x 35.5mm and some headwork. Use dual springs and chromoly retainers. | | | |
| Engle 130 OK for the person who doesn't mind sacrificing a little low end torque in order to make more peak horsepower. Should only be used with modified heads and two twin choke carbs. I have customers who use this cam on 40 x 35.5mm valved stock stroke engines. Not the best choice for a daily driver. Use with stock 1.1:1 ratio rockers, dual valve springs and chromoly retainers. 308 duration, 0.405 inches lift at the cam. | | | |
| Engle FK8 If you have a long stroke engine and want the kind of smooth powerband the Engle 110 provides in smaller motors, this is a good choice. Use with 1.4:1 ratio rockers, dual springs and chromoly retainers. 304 duration, 0.380 inches lift at the cam. | | | |
| Engle FK10 Provides more top end than the FK8 but can still be very driveable, particularly with larger strokes (82mm and above) and good headwork. Use with 1.4:1 ratio rockers and dual springs. 306 duration, 0.378 inches lift at the cam. | | | |
| Engle FK87 Now you're getting into race territory. However, I've found this cam will work on the street quite well if the engine has a large stroke (84mm plus). With good heads, a large stroke motor can make enough low end torque to compensate for the bias this cam has for making power up top. Less harsh on the valvetrain components than the FK89. Use with 1.4:1 ratio rockers. 320 duration, 0.390 inches lift at the cam. | | | |
| Engle FK89 The world famous drag race cam. Makes great power on the drag strip when the rest of the engine components are suitably modified. Not a great choice for a street driven car. People do use the FK 89 on the street but certainly not on a daily basis. 328 duration, 0.429 inch lift. | | | |
| Engle TCS-10 Designed specifically for turbocharged street engines running boost up to approx 10psi. Please call if you need further assistance with cam choice. | | | |
| Engle TCS-20 For more radical turbocharged street or race engines. Works great with large capacity higher boost applications. Call for further advice if you need help with the correct cam choice for your engine | | | |
| Aluminium bolt on cam gear
Your aftermarket cam doesn't come with a cam gear. Fits all Engle cams.
| Straight cut cam gears Get that distinctive straight cut sound. Mostly used by racers to remove the additional thrust loads on the cam bearings caused by lots of valve lift and extreme valve spring pressure. They also take less HP to drive than the stock helical gears. Street racers like them for that distinctive straight cut sound. Both gears are steel. | | | |
| Billet lightweight cam followers with oiling hole
The ideal match for your Engle cam. These lightweight lifters have a thinner head than stock which helps avoid the need for machining of the cam follower bores for the 1mm cam lobe to follower clearance required on all VW engines. Features a .024" oiling hole which ensures a ready supply of oil to the lobe and assists in avaoiding 'flat cam' syndrome
| Cam bearings Stock cam bearings. You'll need two (2) sets in order to make up a full circle thrust bearing. Price is for one (1) set | | | |
| Cam plug
New cam plug. Fits most cases
| Cam plug - rubber Some new cases don't have the groove for the steel cam plug and use this rubber seal instead. This is it. | | | |
