1. What's the JMR online store all about?
Now you can buy quality performance parts online from the JMR online perform@nce p@rts store. I only stock parts I know are capable of enhancing the performance of your aircooled VW. No see through distributor caps or chrome tinware here! You also have the benefit of knowing these are the same parts I use in the performance engines I build and I'm therefore able to offer unrivalled customer support for any parts you may purchase from this store. Unlike the majority of VW parts retailers, I actually use the parts I offer for sale, so in the event you may need information on their use, I can offer first hand knowledge. This service is only available for parts purchased from JMR and will not be given for products bought elsewhere.

2. How do I use the store?
The JMR online perform@nce p@rts store is easy to use. Click on the 'parts index' icon to view the various categories within the store. Having chosen which department to enter, you'll find a list of products with accompanying picture, description and price. If you wish to make a purchase, click the 'add to basket' button. You can move between all the departments in the store, adding items to your basket as you go. You can view the contents of your basket at any time by clicking on the 'view basket' button. In this view you can remove individual items or empty the entire contents. Note: the 'view basket' window price does not include VAT or shipping costs. These additional costs aren't added until you go to the 'checkout' area. Until you've supplied the relevant details on the order form and submitted it, you're under no obligation to go ahead with the order. So if you wish to see the Shipping and VAT inclusive total, you can do so without fear of accidentally submitting an order.

3. How do I place an order?
Having visited the various departments and adding selected products to your basket, click on the 'checkout' button and if you're happy with the total, click the 'Submit Order' button and you'll be taken to the order form, which is hosted on a secure site. Fill in the details and submit the form. It's as simple as that! If you filled out the form correctly, you'll recieve an automated e-mail reply to acknowledge receipt of your order. You can normally expect your order to be despatched within 24 hours of receipt, for delivery on the next working day. You will be notified of any shortages and given an expected delivery date. Your credit card will not be charged until all items are ready to despatch. Remember, it's my intention to only advertise products in the store which I normally have in stock, so assuming I don't have supply problems, expect the order fill rate to be high.

4. How do you deliver the goods?
Most parts are sent via Royal Mail. Most parts are sent within 24 hours of the order being recieved and generally arrive within 3 working days. Heavier items, such as complete engines and transmissions, are sent by carrier and an we will advise on expected delivery date.

7. How long have you been in business?
Since 1983.

8. What are your live operator hours?
You will generally get someone on the end of the phone Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm.

9. Do you match or beat prices?
No. The parts I stock are chosen on their quality and suitability. Not because they're the cheapest available and allow the highest profit margin. This is why I haven't allied myself to one specific supplier. If I did, I could get more discount but that ties me into making compromises where quality is concerned. JMR has earned a reputation for quality. If you want to aim for the same high standards, buy your parts here. If you're purely interested in obtaining something at the lowest price possible, save yourself some time and shop elsewhere for inferior (and maybe cheaper) goods. However, this doesn't mean all JMR products are necessarily more expensive than others. In fact you'll find many parts are priced extremely competitively. JMR also offers something many other retailers aren't capable of: a working knowledge of the parts. Becuse the parts contained within the JMR store are used by ourselves on a regular basis, we can offer excellent customer service. Many of the other VW retailers can't compete with this. In fact most of them don't even own a VW, let alone have personal experience of the parts they are selling!

10. Do you have a mailing list?
You should subscribe to the JMR mailing list to ensure you keep informed of the latest news and deals. Just enter your e-mail address in the online form which can be found on the opening page of the JMR website and also on the JMR message board.

11. Is your Web order form secure?
Yes. The order form is hosted on a secure site (SSL). It's perfectly safe to enter your credit card details here. It's a lot safer than handing your card over to a shop assistant who disappears into a back room to process your order. If you're still unsure about sending your details via the online order form, you can place your order by phone or fax.

12. What is your return or exchange policy?
Orders cannot be cancelled once they've been despatched. In the unlikely event you receive a faulty part, you will be offered an exchange item or a full refund. Parts which have been used by the purchaser will not be accepted for refund.

13. Do you accept orders by fax?
Yes. Send your order to 01870 602516 and include a day time telephone number.

14. Do you accept and fulfill international orders?
The shop automatically calculates shipping and tax (if applicable) to a large number of countries. However, if you find your country isn't listed in the drop down list on the order form, you can go ahead with the order and we will contact you with final shipping details and costs before processing the order. Alternatively, you may want to contact us via e-mail or telephone before placing the order.

15. I e-mailed you a question a few days ago and I still haven't received a reply. What's happening?
Many people are under the impression that John Maher Racing is some huge corporation. JMR is a small but very specialised business, dedicated to supplying quality parts and services to the discerning, performance seeking VW enthusiast. The same person that replies to e-mail, also maintains the web site, handles customer service, pays bills, orders product and pitches in with all shipping services. I reply to messages in order of importance. A question concerning an order that was placed has priority over a question that can be obviously answered by taking the time to read the information I have already made available on the web site or in the JMR Performance Guide.

16. What do you do with my contact information/e-mail?
None of your details are sold or given to other sources. You will only be contacted in relation to an ongoing order or if you have subscribed to the JMR mailing list. You can unsubscribe from the JMR mailing list at any time by going to the mailing list form on the opening page of the JMR website, entering your e-mail address and selecting the 'unsubscribe' option.
